Good news from Hawaii. They should pursue what The Hague did and ban fossil fuel ads.

Great essay Thank you. Federal preemption of state laws is always interesting.and is usually when the government has an overiding interest to protect some parties. I fail to see that's present here.

CORRUPT doesn’t even come close!!!

The U.S. Supreme Court already ruled against big oil & in Hawaii’s favor before Trump took office. Knowing this, does he really think the court will reverse itself?

In all honesty, with this corrupt SCOTUS "gang of six" in his back pocket, yes, he probably does thing that, and again in all honesty, I wouldn't be all that surprised if they did.

The Whitehouse, by filing BEFORE the state of Hawaii did, has no legal standing. Federal lawyers could not at the time of filing have any detailed facts about the lawsuit they are trying to prevent. The action they are hoping for must be controlled by laws, not lawsuits.

They're totally convinced that they're above the law. As we've already seen in every one of those first 100 days.

Hypocrite much?

Hawaii left ExxonMobil off their lawsuitrelated to climate change.

Background on the Lawsuit

The lawsuit, filed by the state of Hawaii, targets several major oil companies for their role in contributing to climate change and its impacts on the state.

ExxonMobil was notably excluded from this legal action, which has raised questions about the state's strategy and focus.

Other Companies Involved

The lawsuit includes other major oil companies such as Chevron, Shell, and BP.

These companies are being held accountable for their contributions to greenhouse gas emissions and the resulting environmental damage.

Reason for Exclusion

Specific reasons for excluding ExxonMobil have not been publicly detailed, leading to speculation about legal strategy or potential settlements.

This regime wants to all corporations to have immunity from lawsuits. This federal regime would have environmental, workplace safety, health and pollution hazards, unequal pay for same work, discrimination, and harassment suits all banned. So corporations can do whatever the hell they want. Even injure, sicken, and kill us.

Hawaii is too beautiful to be ruined by environmental contamination!!!

STATES RIGHTS!! when pigs are running the country, states must step up. Thank you Hawaii❤️

I love the use of "States rights". The reichwing has screamed those words to "defend" their right to Jim Crow style election interference and John Birch style segregation for decades, indeed, to start the Civil War. Turn it around on them!
